Welcome to Happy Trails Stables

Happy Trails is the only beach trail horse riding facility in Nassau. For 6 days per week visitors can enjoy a 1.5 hour trail ride every morning. They are picked up from their hotel or cruise ship by the happy Trail courtesy bus, brought out to the stables where they are given some basic riding instruction and then its off to the trails.

The Windsor Equestrian Centre, or Happy Trails Stables as it is known locally, has been operating in The Bahamas since 1977. The brainchild of Duke and Susan Smith, the stables began offering trail rides for visitors and residents from its location in Coral harbour, a small scenic settlement on the beach, about 25 minutes from Downtown Nassau, the Bahamas’ capital, and only 7 minutes from the prestigious Lyford Cay.

It was not long before the Smiths were boarding private horses and offering instruction for novice riders, all of which continue to this day.

During the months of February and March 06, the Happy Trails team went into rehearsal mode for the appearance of their 17h.h. Holsteiner, Monster Max, who has a short scene in the upcoming James Bond movie, Casino Royale.

In Max's scene he is being ridden by Solange played by the Italian actress Caterina Murino. Caterina canters Max along the beach, watched by James Bond, played by Daniel Craig.

Rehearsals were held daily at Windsor Equestrian Centre and at the nearby beach with the world renouned stunt man and horse master Rowley Irlam. Rowley has appeared in Alexander, the Harry Potter movies, Return of Zorro to name a few and will be seen shortly in the Da Vinci Code (being burned at the stake !).

Back up horses in the rehearsals were Delta Dawn and Mr.Red owned by W.E.C. and Day Tripper owned by Erika Adderley-Coello. The movie was released in November of 2006.
